I began painting birds at the age of 12. and completed my professional training in art at California State University at Long Beach, with a BA degree in illustration (1973). I moved to Arizona soon after college and lived in Jerome for 30 years. There, I taught art for Yavapai College, free-lanced as a graphic designer, worked for a scientific instrument company, environmental company and did graphic design for a newspaper. During those years I perfected my skills with the computer and digital image making.
My bird illustration work has appeared in Arizona Highways and two books on birding; Birding the Flagstaff Area by Frank & Linda Brandt and Birding Sedona & the Verde Valley by Virginia Gilmore.
I have lived now for 6 years in Patagonia and am loving it and the birds.
